Catch Up

Ok I'm playing catch up once again sorry about that so here's a couple of post to start with.. anyway I thought i will post as much as I can before Kellan and I heads back to the Philippines for a holiday. I've been meaning to blog a few pictures I took earlier (like last month) of our little master but keep forgetting to do it. He's our little daredevil, sometimes when we tell him to "stop or No dont do that" he would totally do the opposite (cheeky little boy right?) anyway one day while i'm doing something, he calls me and says "mummy look and Nennan (that's what he calls himself cute huh? ) so here's the picture for that.. I was so scared he'll fall and smack his head but I can't resist but go run for my camera and have to take picture of it to show his daddy..

Girls week end away.. 2nd week of October

I wasn't sure at first whether i should blog this, since this blog is mainly about master Kellan but then i thought why not? he needs to know where his mummy gone for that week end..

So all the girls in our family (with the exception of Eden) she was in Adelaide at the time, goes away for the week end for a break, we all went somewhere in the border of Queensland and New South Wales (can't remember exactly where now) but we all had a great time and enjoyed it very much that we decided that we should turn it into an annual girls week end away. One of my sister inlaw organized it this year, we went to Rainbow Beach in the Sunshine Coast this time around about 3 hours drive from Brisbane, it rained the first night and the next day (not all day) that we're there, but we still had a great time, we played board games, laugh like nothing else (oh my stomach muscles hurt afterwards from too much laughing) and when the rain finally stopped Kiersten and I decided to check out the beach, we didn't swim but had a great walk and just enjoyed walking in the sand (free foot massage and exfoliation bahaha) and then we walked back to our apartment and we all went out and played tennis for a little bit.

Then when we had enough, we all decided to go to the beach again, still didn't swim ha ha (too cold for a swim) but all lied down and got a little bit of sun on us (not that i need to more tanning lol) and just enjoyed sound of waves..

After we had enough lying down on the sand, we decided to get into the spa (not much of spa really) the water was more like a luke warm bath what a shame..

Then we had dinner, and games, more treat and more laughing..and then it was bed time :-)

We checked out the next day and we drove to Montville (2 hours drive from where we stayed) it was kind of on our way home but not really (that didn't make sense at all did it? lol) okay so we have to get off the highway and went hinterland, but non of that matters because I heart Montville - I have been there at least 3 times i think or more i can't remember, it's a little touristy town but had the nice country-ish feel to it and the view is beautiful up there, nice little shops, chocolate factory, candle shops, yummy food places etc..

We did a bit of shopping, and then sat down and ate lunch and then along the way lost my camera.. back tracked my way and found it at the candle shop where i left it (silly me).

So did that sound like fun to you? well i enjoyed it and i felt relaxed but i was ready to go back to my boys after that. Thank you husband for letting me go on this little outings and thank you for taking care of Kellan and Jedi while i was away, and of course thank you sisters in law and mother in law for the laughs and the company.

Happy birthday Daddy

We Celebrated Daddy's birthday earlier this month, nothing fancy.. but i think he had fun and enjoyed the company, well we had dinner first and then had our family over for desert (lots of desert) pity i forgot to take a picture of table full of deserts! anyway after we sang daddy a happy birthday and had desert we played singstar (daddy loves singstar) and just basically had fun for the night and enjoyed everyone's laughter and company.

Our little boy is so sweet, such a good reminder and example to us, I'm glad to know that he's learning and a doer at the same time. Everytime i put him in his high chair he will now automatically folds his arms, bow his head and shut his eyes, so cute.. and then he says his prayer (well copy what i say) We're grateful to be parents of this smart sweet boy, we're thankful that he keeps us on our toes, makes being a parent fun, we hope to be able to raise him the way our Heavenly Father wants us to raise His children, we love him dearly. Thank you for being making us Happy baby.

Must Love Dog

He loves to do pretty much everything with him, he loves playing with Jedi, eat with Jedi, etc.. but they have their differences like everyone else hahaha! but seriously, whenever we go somewhere (e.g to the shops, go to friends house, etc..) Master K would always ask me if Jedi could go too, i often say no except when we're going for a walk to the dog park(obviously lol). I'm glad that we got Jedi when he's a puppy because he loves him and he keeps him company, awhile ago when we just got Jedi i caught K sitting in Jedi's bed in the morning after he just had his breakfast and feeding him food by hand here's a video of it ( i dont know if that works but i posted it facebook awhile ago), they certainly loves each other, it's a hard work taking care of a dog because it's just like another kid but it's worth it! especially when i hear him giggle and laugh (sometimes he squeals too) when they play together it is just a wonderful thing to watch (except when they had enough of each other).

P.S.

that awful looking scrape on K's forehead? (if you guys are wondering?) well Jedi didn't do it. Master K is just a little dare devil, he thinks he's invincible sometimes, he dove in our front porch riding his toy car, hence the nasty looking scrape.

The Snowboard learner

Here's a video clip of me snowboarding! I am so proud of me lol, i think i did pretty good considering the snow is crap and only snowboarded for a total of 1 day, half a day the first time we went up the mountain (2 hours really in snowboard school with my nephews) and then a few hours on the last day, i hope i wont forget and will just pick it up from where i left off for the next snow trip :-) I will post the ending to this video later.

I love this pictures of Kellan and Pacey, I love how Kellan is gentle with her, and how Pacey giggles and squeals when she thinks Kellan is chasing her :-) they are so cute together, Kellan definitely love Pacey's company, i know he is very lucky and blessed to have Pacey as a friend.. I wonder if they'll remain friends as they grow up, I hope they will :-) it'll be interesting to see..

As promised - our snow trip

I know it's a few weeks late, nevertheless here 'tis...so we went to Falls Creek Victoria for a snow holiday, however the snow wasn't that great at all, i guess we should have expected it since we went at the very end of the season, most of the snow has melted by the time we got there, so poor Kellan didn't even get to play in the snow as planned, he didn't get to experience toboganning, or tubing or even make a snowman or doing snow angel :( but all of these didn't stop us from having fun though.. we still did a lot of things that are fun... and it was fun because we did it as a family and with family members; grandma, grandpa, auntie Nae and cousins were there to share it with us... so to sum it all up, the snow was crap but holiday was heaps of fun...

Firstly we went to a trout farm and all the kids had a go at catching a rainbow trout, i think they all had a blast, then grandpa had to buy all the fishes that they caught, we ended up with 6 fishes (and im pretty sure i ate most of it, well none of the kids would eat it.. so more for me lol)

Also on the positive side, we actually get to see some snow falling the first day we went up the mountain which was really cool..and then it was sunny and warm the rest of the week that we were there.

Well even with the snow being not great, we still went about and did what we had come to do there, Both Chad and I snowboarded, i went to a snowboarding school for 2 hours with my nephews Jacob and Isaac and after that i was done for the day (it was so tiring, needless to say i was wasted).

The next day we had a rest, and took it easy, we all went to a town called Bright and had a family Pic Nic at the park by the beautiful creek and the kids had a play in the massive playground afterwards which was nice.

And then we went back the mountain to have another go at snowboarding and skiing, this time the snow was even worse, it was so slushy and it almost felt like a glue at some runs..however we still had a ball, i finally got the hang of snowboarding which was awesome!! (it was my goal to at least be able to snowboard by the end of the trip) I was pretty proud of myself, I gues the difference between this time and the time when i first tried snowboarding in Queenstown New Zealand a few years back was, first i took a beginners lesson to begin with which boosted my confidence (a lot!) and i also overcame my fear of falling and actually going down the hill and most of all I didn't give up yay!!

Anyway what i'm trying to say is it was a great holiday regardless! Thank you family for making it fun, enjoyable and memorable holiday.

We are back

First and for all forget our absence :( there's a few reason's that i can think of to explain the long absence but maybe i should just say that i became lazy, that's just it :-) I know that there are a few friends that actually reads this blog, so to you i would like to say sorry :( I promise i'll do my best to update this blog as much as i can. Looking through my old post, i realized i've missed so many special occassions that i should have blogged, reading through my friends blogs made me realized that i should get my act together and start blogging again, my friend Jade inspire me to do this, she is so good, she told me that her blog is her journal (and her daughter's as well) and i admire her for doing it, i never thought of having this blog like that, such a wonderful idea, so i will try to follow her example :-) (copycat huh!).

Anyway here's what you've missed since the last post:

After we got back from the Philippines ( we didn't have a permanent address at the time), we house sat a friend's place while they were on holidays. (note: we got back from the Philippines right after the floods, most of the waters hasn't receded then)
Kellan had his first birthday, we were originally have it in the South Bank Parklands but it got flooded :( so we have to change venue, we ended up having it an aquatic place, which was still loads of fun.
When our friends came back from their holidays, we have to stay with family as looking for a place to rent then was very hard, it took us a couple of months to finally get one, oddly enough we found a place on the same street on which we used to live, so we ended up moving just a few houses down (yes very weird i know:) but we didn't mind it as we loved the area.
Settled to our new place, bought car and got a puppy (we have to weight 7 weeks to take the puppy home until it was ready to leave his mummy)
We celebrated mother's day in Adelaide South Australia, as we have to attend a wedding down there. Chad was very generous, he bought me a Ghd hair straightener, i've always wanted one but i always ended up putting it off as it's quite expensive and i find it hard to justify buying it.
and a then there was Father's Day in Australia (September) which Kellan and I generally make daddy a breakfast in bed, but he didn't have breakfast that morning because the whole family was having a special fast, we still gave him his present and card that day and he eventually got his breakfast a few days later :-) (better late than never right?).

And obviously there are some things we did in between, but nothing significant.

Sorry i was trying to upload some photos in regards to the events listed above but somehow the photos are not uploading properly, so no pictures :( if you have facebook, you can check out my profile as there are some recent photos there.

I promise to work this photo thing soon, eversince we transfered all of our photos to an external hardrive it has been hard to look for photos or not loading properly etc on my laptop, so let see if I can get it to work when we get back from our snow trip this Friday, so until then.

I'm so sorry i haven't been able to update our blog for awhile, it has been a crazy couple of months, we moved out of our unit in November, stayed with Jade and Aaron for a month and then we went on a holiday (still in a holiday), then i think we will be house sitting for a little while when we go back home, and then we will be house hunting etc.. so i promise to give you a detailed update with pictures when we get back. As for now, we're enjoying the remaining days of our holiday, Kellan has been spoilt a lot so we have to straighten him up when we get back..He's getting big and cuter each day, he's such a talker, sometimes we think that he says words, Chad braced him this afternoon because he's everywhere and hurting someone (un-intentionally - me :-), hurts himself and we thought we heard him say "let me go" it's so cute and funny..we can't believed he'll be turning one soon.. :( time has gone by so fast...anyway i hope to update you more very soon..I hope every had a wonderful Christmas and a New year! We love you all.

Halloween

Halloween in Australia is not big like in the U.S and everywhere else, hence we're not big in dressing up (well maybe it's just me and Chad) our costumes are generally boring ha ha, kids don't really go trick or treat -ing or trunk or treat or whatever else they do in halloween normally, although lately it seems like halloween is getting more popular? (to some), like lately there was an event here is Brisbane called the zombie walk, where they close off the streets of Brisbane city for this event to happen..

Anyway this year Chad wore a mask, Kellan is dressed up as a baby dracula and i pathetically attempted to paint my face as an avatar (i think we are getting a bit better lol).

Heath and Kiersten organized a halloween party this year and they did so good, they even had a little production a.k.a. Haunted house where everyone is invited to go through, it was so good i was scared to death, I screamed like a mad woman ha ha, well done Heath and Kier! so here are some of our halloween pictures.

I'm a big boy now

Our little baby is no more :( kinda sad, he's growing so fast, he certainly looks more like a little boy now, I haven't weighed him for awhile now nor measured him so i've got no clue on how heavy or tall he is (i know, i know, very slack mummy indeed). He now have 4 teeth, 3 at the bottom and 1 up, he doesn't crawl fully but somehow gets around the lounge room, he can stand up against something but not quite on his own, he walks around holding onto furniture etc., he also loves it when i hold his hands to walk around, he's always on the go, he rarely sit on my lap still anymore, he often slides down, he's slowly getting more hair, he's also getting browner (yay!), he's finally saying mum and mumma especially when he wants something, he loves to swim (no surprise there, he loves his bath so i didn't think that water would be a problem). He loves being outdoor too which is good for me, keeps me active. He loves the library, he loves books and most of all he loves playing with other babies, he laughs and giggle alot whenever there are babies around him even when there's nothing funny going on (weird lol). We love our Kellan dearly, he'll always be a baby to me. Happy nine months old baby boy.

Master Kellan is really playing his title as the master, it's funny how babies can boss you around although they can't speak, anyway lately Kellan have been doing a pose whenever he's lying down, after his nappy change or after a feed, i think its cute..(proof below), he also loves to pull faces as you can see from the pictures in the previous posts.

Chad had his birthday on the 3rd of this month, we didn't do much, Kellan and I got him a short and shirt, we also had a family get together/dinner at my sister inlaws place, we didn't party hard as it was on a sunday but it was still heaps of fun :-) I think daddy had a great time too.

Kellan and I are so happy to have walking buddies, we love spending time with Jade and princess Pacey, they are so lovely, Kellan and Pacey love playing and laughing together, so cute, here are some cute photos we took of them while out and about. What happened in September??

September..September..hmm where do i start, perhaps start on a happy note, almost a month ago now, i got called and sustained as the First councillor of the Relief Society in the Brisbane ward, at first I was a bit overwhelmed, when a member of the Bishopric called me for an interview, i seriously thought of declining this calling, because i feel like i wont be able to fulfill it well as i have a little baby that demands most of my time, but i thought to myself, if the Lord wants me to serve in this area, i know that He will guide me and help me find the strength and courage to fulfill my calling both as a mother and a councillor, this is actually my 3rd calling in the RS (all within this year), i was a VT supervisor in the beginning of the year and then i was released and, got called to be the secretary and then now as the RS first councillor, I do love every single calling that has been extended to me and I enjoy serving my sisters in zion, and i am grateful for their confidence in me, I can only do my best and I know that the Lord will help me with the rest.

On the 15th of September, I got into an accident (this is the not so happy part :()I was on my way to the shops to do my grocery shopping, Chad is at home with Kellan (he's sleeping at the time) thank goodness, I didn't get hurt, not even a scratch, I am so lucky to be alive, i was so scared, all I can think of at the time is Kellan and Chad (never been into an accident before, this is my major crash) I totalled my car, it's written off :(, it's old but its still running alright, we already have a plan of getting a new one at the beginning of next year until our car dies but obviously i killed it before hand (The accident is not my fault, if you're all wondering) so Chad is now hunting for a car that would last us until we can afford to get the new car that we want, it's been a bit stressful month for us but we're now slowly getting back to normal. I am very grateful for the help we got from the family, for lending us their car when we need it until we get our own, so until then.

So Lately...

I totally overlooked updating the blog, what a slack huh? anyway here are some of the updates on what we've been upto lately..

To the Best Husband and the Best daddy in the whole wide world(I didn't realized that this post has been sitting in my draft box for a little while, whooopss! better late than never right?)

Its Chad's official first Fathers Day today, we are so blessed to have him as the head of our family, Master K adores his daddy, he loves playing and spending time with him, he even cry now and then when his daddy leaves to go to work or go somewhere so cute :-) we didn't do much really, K got his daddy a book that he can read it to him

and mummy got him an Xbox game and made a lovely dinner and spent time together as family. I'm grateful to all the Fathers in my life, for all the things they've done for me.
(I didn't realized that this post has been sitting in my draft for awhile, whoops)

Master K turns 8 months

Seriously! dear time, please slow down? Goodness me, our baby is getting so big and 8 months old already!

Here are a few pictures i took of him from the park on our way home from our daily walk, such a good boy and happy baby. He enjoyed playing the grass and whenever i called his name he looked at me and gave me a smile, what a trooper!

Our baby is now seven months, he's getting so big and clever, more personalities, sometimes i look at him and i dont see a baby anymore, it's kinda sad that they grow so fast, anyway..

New Tricks/Progress so far..

fully sits up on his own - i don't know if he'll ever crawl because he's more interested on walking

he blows raspberries when his bored/tired/ or have had enough of his food

He's getting cuter, smarter and funnier by the day, we love this boy so much, we are very blessed to have him in our lives and in our home.

This video was taken almost 2 weeks ago, and it was taken right after he had a big tantrum, breastmilk doesn't satisfy him any longer so he always demands more milk, i was a little slow to make him some, so he was crying/screaming so hard, but as soon as as i gave him the milk, he was waving goodbye to me (like, he's way of saying okay i got what i want, now you can leave me alone, because i can feed myself)
oh life.... :-) so here's a bit of what it's like at home every now and then.

I can't believe i am posting this, i really do feel horrible for doing so, but on the other hand i also think it's so cute and funny (you guys must think i'm a horrible mother ).
Anyway he just had his dinner and just finished cleaning him up, i turned around for like less than a minute or so to wash my hands before putting him to bed and i found him like this and can't help myself but to tape him :( he falls asleep a lot while we hold him but never in his bumbo chair before (excuse my voice and my snorting laugh lol).

My baby has been saying words the last couple of days, one day while i was folding laundry, he kept on saying dad-da, (it's the only word that's kinda clear, the rest are kind of jibberish :-) i wasn't able to find my camera so i just got my phone and started recording so the quality isn't the greatest, i only caught the end of it but it made his daddy really happy :-) I've been telling him to say Mum-ma first but he would giggle at me instead, cheeky little boy..anyway i'm sure he'll say it eventually.

Our talented brother in law has kindly took these photos for us, this is the first professional family picture of us, we're so happy with the pictures, Ben did a wonderful job, K's so cute in every single photos, he took a lot more than seven pictures but i think these might be his favourites. It was hard to get K to smile at the camera, all we need to do his to call out the word "stinky" lol, for some reason, he laughs and giggle when he hears the word, funny kid. Anyway here they are again, most of you that are on facebook have seen these already, so i hope you enjoy browsing at them.

Half year

Our little precious baby boy turned 6 months today, already?? he is so gorgeous, we love his smile, laugh, and his personality, he truly brings so much happiness into our lives, people say that he's a really good mixed of mummy and daddy :-) we are so happy we have him.

Progress so far...

he's been eating solid foods (pureed) and he loves it
he can sit up on his own
he can stand up holding onto furnitures
he rolls over to where he wanna go (can only roll one way though ;-) like Derek Zoolander ha ha
he can walk around the activity centre, so we think he might walk first before crawling, he cant stand being on his tummy for a long time
he holds on to mummy's leg and wont let go until i pick him up
no tooth has come through yet but it might be soon
he suddenly takes dummy (that's pacifier for my american friends just incase you're wondering what it is :-)
he thinks that his bumbo chair is a potty (he seem to poop there most of the time), i guess early potty training?
he can do high fives, he loves it
he's obsessed with phones
he loves reading stories - he loves books in general
he loves tickle time
he loves his kids TV programs

Our very own Masterchef challenge

My sisters inlaw and I had our first Masterchef challenge tonight, we all had fun, we had to judge each others food and gave comments (constructive), it was so much fun, i think it was Kier who picked the core ingredients that we have to work with for this week, we had pork, ginger and raspberry. Ranae came with the win tonight, she made two dishes because she wasnt sure which one is better, she made a baked cheesecake with raspberry sauce and a mouse (well done Renae!) Jade came second, and i think its either Hope or Kier on third and then Cody i think and i came last :(, i hope that i'll do better next time :-) so here are the end products, unfortunately Kiers dish wasn't on the table when i took these pictures she made a pork and ginger with pan fried asparagus, it looked amazing and delicious too, trust me these pictures doesn't do justice to the foods that were on that table tonight, they look so much better in reality.

An Overdue update

Reasons for my absence in blogger:

* First i broke my internet mobile key when i dropped my laptop and also found out a few days later that my laptop was also broken.

* We then have to get our PC upgraded so we can have a computer to use and that took a little while to get done
* PC has been upgraded and running a lot faster but since we've packed away our PC monitor, we have to plugged the PC via HDMI to our TV, so i now have a massive screen but i have to sit on the floor to go online and that definitely kills my back (i think it'll be better when i get myself a wireless keyboard) so that's what stopping me from going online or if i do go online it's mainly to check my email or get into FB for friends update, so very brief online visit indeed

* Also most of our recent pictures are in the laptop, we are yet to recover the data from it, so here's what i missed to blog since:

Chad finished his university degree in November last year but he's certificate only arrived a couple of weeks ago, we're are so proud of him! well done daddy!

I wish i can pause the time as it is going so fast, can't believe master K is four months already, where has the time gone? master K is gonna outgrow me soon :( i want him to remain little so i can kiss him anytime, and whenever i want but on the other hand Master K is getting so handsome, clever, funnier and playful (i love playing with him, he's hilarious), of course its not all that, he also have his tantrums but overall he's a very good and adorable baby, we love him so much.
Tomorrow we're taking master K to the doctor for his general milestone check up and for his shots... :-( i wish i could have the shot for him, i hate too see my baby getting hurt but i have to be braved for him, his daddy will also be there for him tomorrow so i hope that he will only cry for a bit. Our friend Irma and her baby Bella came over yesterday and paid us a visit, Kellan and Bella met for the first time :-), the last time the mummys met was when we're still both pregnant, and we havent seen each other since, its been a long time coming:-) about time we hung out. The mothers (that's us) exchanged wars of stories, both us are first time mums so it's pretty cool and interesting exchanging stories, as well as experiences as mums. Bella is adorable, Kellan loves talking to her and Bella loves touching Kellan, they are so cute. We all had fun it was great spending time together..Kellan absolutely loves interacting with people especially babies, super adorable..I definitely would love to have a girl next :-)

Mother's Day

My very first mother's day yay! i'm so happy i get to be mother to a very special, gorgeous, smart boy :-) I've always wanted to be a mother, i thought it will never happen and now i am one and i can't describe the emotions that i feel in my heart everytime i cuddle, nurse and play with my baby, being a mother is definitely not an easy task, but i do enjoy every single minute of it. I am grateful for my mother, for all the things she's done for me, for the wisdom and the lessons she taught me and of course for her love.

Chad wanted to make a breakfast in bed for me but i thought it won't be necessary, so i've asked him to make me a herbal tea instead accompanied by a bought cinnamon donut perfect! :-), a week ago, my boys bought me a "big family necklace from Etsy, and a mother and baby pendant from Prouds Jewellers" as my mothers day present plus a cute Apron :-) it's all very cute, and to finish the day off, we went to Chad's parent's house where we had a family dinner, and gave mum her present, we bought her a Pandora Bracelet and some charms to go with it, she loved it!

Anzac day camping getaway

This post is over a week late, we normally go camping at North Strathbroke Island, but this year we decided to go somewhere a little different and because we have Kellan now we have to consider how is he like in camp, so we thought we'll go somewhere closer to home and a little cheaper than going to the island. So if Kellan doesn't like camping then we can just drive home without having to pay too much, Kellan was great in camp, he actually like outdoors, he loved it when we went for a walk, except when i dipped his feet in the creek, he didn't like that at all (the water was very cold though). We love camping, so we decided that instead of going camping once a year, we'll go twice, we'll go North Straddie on summer time before school starts so we can enjoy the beach, and on autumn time so we can just chill and relax by the creek. The placed where we camped this year is called the Spring Gully stays, it's awesome, beautiful view, lovely creek, family friendly, well kept, and the amenities are great, it has kitchen with BBQ, fridge etc, dining area where family can hang out and play board games after dinner etc. it has hot/cold showers, and toilets, it's my kind of camping :-), you can either stay in a cabin if you're feeling a little lazy to pack up your camping gear or bring your own tent and camp like a true camper :-) either way is great! Anyway heres some photos from the camp.

Cricket Awards Night

Alas cricket season has come to an end.. hmm not for long..i'm sure October will come quickly (cricket season begins all over). Every year the Rangers cricket club put on an awards night, where the players are awarded trophies/recognition etc..there are 2 teams in this club, The Rangers and Ramjets, Chad is the Captain of the Rangers team, He didn't get any award this year but his team won the Two Days competition i believe, so i guess his focus on the team rather on his own personal game, we are still proud of him because i believe he did great as a captain.
Our Friend Gavin almost got every award there is - He's that good :-) Well done Gavin! I hope you can make it to the Queensland team in the near future :-)
It was a good night, I enjoyed the food and the company. Even Kellan had a great night i think? until we need strap him into his carseat:( he used to love and sleep in his carseat, he's okay as long as the car is moving, but every red light that we get - he screams histerically for no reason and as soon as the car goes again he stop, it's so bizzaare. For our family home evening, we decided to go out for a family date, we took Kellan to a movie with us, we saw the "Date Night" the movie is good and Kellan was really good, he didn't really sleep, in fact he was just happy to cuddle and his hands were covering his ears at one stage it's so cute :-), after the movie, we went to get food for dinner and then went for a walk by the river, it was a great night and Kellan had fun too..

I still can't believe my baby boy is now 3 months old, he's getting smarter each day, he totally knows what he wants, yep he'll let you know everytime, he's got this throaty kind of crying/screaming when he's having a tanty :( he's got so many personalities, but we love our little munchkin to bits, he teaches me patience, love, kindness every day, he also makes me smile a thousand times a day :-) he loves attention, he loves to talk, he loves to read a story book with mummy. I'm a bit sad that he's growing so fast and that time goes by so fast like nothing else, i just wanna hold on to him so he can stay little for a little while, i looked at his newborn pictures and i can't believe how much he has grown, i still do get a little teary everytime because i get that same feeling i had the first time i saw him in the hospital, the emotion that i had that night is unexplainable, it was wonderful! soon it would be tough for me to nurse him, he's just getting so big and heavy :-) Oh my baby I just can't imagine my life without you. I thank Heavenly Father each day for giving you to us, for the joy that you bring into our home, we love your giggles, your laughs, your coos, every little thing that you do - we love.

We took Kellan to the beach for the first time, well he didn't have a swim but i dipped his feet in the water and he quite like it, it was a little windy that day so we stayed under the tent most times..we had a lovely time as a family, i had fish and crispy chips and Chad had big chief's burger, it was relaxing and a fun day for us.

Easter this year is super special to us because we have Kellan, he brings so much joy into our home. We are grateful that Heavenly Father gave him to us, just as how grateful i am for Jesus Christ, for His atoning sacrifice, and i strive each day to be a better person, so i can be worthy to partake of the blessings of his Atonement through repentance, I am grateful that i am able to reflect on His sacrifice not only on Easter day but each week when i partake of the sacrament. Kellan is now 10 weeks old, sometime i wonder where has the time gone? it seems only yesterday that we found out we're pregnant with him..anyway, he's getting so big, he now weighs 6.1kg (13.42lbs) and 62cm long, he loves watching kids TV, he would not stop talking and laughing while watching, he is such a cute kid, very alert and curious, i think he's going to be a thinker, he's getting browner and browner each day, he's colour is beautiful, not pale and not dark either, he's in between, he's just perfect <:) i love everything about him :) i love his crying face too, i actually took some photos of him crying just recently (well you might think that's quite mean to let him cry just so i can take some pictures) but i just can't help it ha ha! we're indeed very grateful that we have Kellan, he brings so much happiness into our lives, he brings us even closer together, i love hanging out and taking care of him everyday, and his dad always looks forward to see him, hold and play with him after work, they look so cute together, Kellan brings out the best of Chad that's for sure, he's a wonderful daddy to Kellan..I love them both dearly and i am very grateful that i have them in my life. Kellan turned 2 months yesterday, he's getting so big and getting cuter too, he's smiling a lot now, it's so cute it's hard to put the camera down, he got his immunisation done, that wasn't fun at all, i hated it, i felt so sorry for him, but i'd rather needles than him getting sick so i had to be braved for him. Our doctor is happy with his progress, he's now weighing 5.7kg and 59cm long, he said he's a pretty good size considering he's being breastfed <:) We love the stage he is at right now, so cute that sometimes all we want to do is play with him and do nothing else :) anyway here are some pictures of Kellan smiling.

Baby Blessing

Yesterday was Kellan's baby blessing, it was such a wonderful experience, his dad did a great job naming and blessing him, Kellan was very good too, the night before he slept for 6 hours straight, and then another 3 hours before church, so he was a happy baby while being blessed, didn't make any sound <:) ( he must be listening to the blessings - i hope he can remember it), most of our family members came (Chad's side that is :) only Jade and Aaron's family wasn't there, Cody and Eden and oh Ben wasn't there also because he was sick. Majority of our close friends were there also, unfortunately non on my family side are present, but that's okay because we are heading back to the Philippines at the end of this year so that they can also see the baby and see how precious Kellan is :) It was so nice to able to share such wonderful occasion with our love ones. I am so grateful for the gospel because it brings our family closer, I'm grateful for the priesthood in my home, I am so happy we finally have Kellan, it took almost 7 years to have him, but he's worth every tears, every pain and every year of waiting, he's a very special miracle to us. I love my boys so much. I love the photos taken that day, everyone has a smile on their faces <:)

6 weeks milestone

Mummy and Kellan had their 6 weeks check up last Thursday, Mummy is doing good, and Kellan is doing great, he is now 57cm long, 12.1lbs (5.5kg), he was born weighing 8.8lbs (3.8450g) and was 52cm long, so he's put on almost 2kg and has grown 5cm, which are pretty good result considering he's being breastfed, the doctor is very happy on his progress and so are we <:), he is starting to smile and have a conversation with us a lot more, he's very alert, he loves staring at his mobile before he goes to sleep, he loves his bath, he loves looking at colourful things:) and most of all he loves being cuddled, who doesn't right? At home I speak Tagalog to him and he cracks up laughing all the time, he probably thinks i'm talking jiberish to him (not sure about the spelling) or he thinks it sounds funny, but anyway it doesnt matter what he thinks of it right now, i will still continue to talk to him in Tagalog, so that when he's old enough and we go back to the Philippines, he can at least understand the language if he can't speak it :), anyway this is our latest update, signing out!

It seems like its only yesterday that i had Kellan, now he's 6 weeks old, he's changed so much already within this period of time, he's got his own personality now, he is smiling a lot, talks back, very alert ( well he's always been alert ha ha!). He lifts himself, he chucks a tantrum now and then, he lets you know when he want something, and it's always I want it NOW mum and dad! lol :) He's getting darker too ( love his colour), he is so cute (well maybe I am bit bias) but we really do think he's cute...anyway here are a few picture of him at 6 weeks old..(photos are actually taken 3 days before he turned 6 weeks, it was taken just before we head off to church on Sunday).

We had a Farewell Bonfire at the Orth's farm in honour of the Dunn's (Jared and Tanha and kids), they are moving to Darwin next week, they will surely be missed. It was Kellan's first bonfire too, it was fun and he slept through the night (good kid :)! here are some photos that night.

Kellan can't really sleep without being wrapped, he's a bit of a wriggly baby, but at the same time, he hates that his hands are all tucked in, we do wrapped him really good, tight enough that a baby shouldnt be able to wriggle out of it, but Kellan is a strong baby, so one day I watch him do it (well he's already more than half way unwrapping himself when i got the camera though)..so here are the photos that i took of him. Being a mum is not so easy as i thought :) I used to think that i've got it all in the bag ha ha! well seven years of - No one wakes me up in the middle of the night or anytime during the night, is something i need to get used to, some nights are different from others, I'm not complaining or anything, dont get me wrong i love my baby boy to bits, i love everything about him, i love everything about being a mum and the experience that comes with it, Kellan sometimes wants to feed for an hour in the middle of the night, plus i have to burp and change his nappy and right before i put a new nappy on him, he sometimes squirt me all over including the face:), it is funny but it can be really tiring, but there's something that can take all the exhaustion and tiredness away, and that's when they Smile at you, and look at you with those super curious eyes that somehow say: "I know you're very tired mummy and i love you for doing all these things for me" I wish i have a 24/7 camera/video that captures these moments, it's so special and worth it:) I love my boy and I love being a mother...

We welcomed our precious son into this world on the 19th of January 2010, It took 14 hours and 39 minutes for him to make his entrance, he has to be delivered by C-section, as i wasn't dilating, baby Kellan was perfect, Chad was the proudest dad ever, when they handed the baby to him to show it to me, all the emotions came flooding through, it's an unexplainable feelings, it was so Sureal...We love him so much, 6 years almost 7 years of waiting for him was so worth it..He keeps us on our toes already, and makes us laugh everyday..He's one precious gift, and we're so grateful that Heavenly Father has entrust us to rear him and be a part of our family, we will do our best to take care of him, and bring him up how Heavenly Father wants us to..Welcome dear Kellan, please know that mummy and daddy loves you heaps!

Tuesday or Wednesday is "the" day

We went to see my obstetrician this morning to plan about the birth, and i'm booked in to be admitted in the hospital for Monday night this week for an induction of labour, so our baby could come either Tuesday or early Wednesday depending on how long the labour is gonna be, I hope and pray that all goes well and smoothly, I'm kinda scared and nervous, this is my first so i dont know what to expect..but i have faith that i'm being watched and looked after by a great team of Doctors, nurses and midwives, plus i know that My Heavenly Father is watching over me and baby.. so i will leave it all to His great hands, and all will be done according to His will..

Growth Scan result today

well, our baby has grown heaps since the last scan almost 5 weeks ago, he doubled his weight since, i burst into tears when the sonographer told me that he's now weighing a whopping 8lbs 11ozs already (3.946kg), i'm getting worried about how to push him out i hope we'll be both okay, but aside from his weight everything is normal, heart action is present, presentation is cephalic (head down). Amniotic fluid: volume is normal, Placenta: position is anterior, not low, structure is normal, a limited fetal morphology assessment did not reveal any abnormality, fluid is seen in the fetal stomach and bladder.

Summary of ultrasound findings: Growth progressing on the 90th centile.

Conclusion: Large for gestational age.

In 4 days time i'm going back to see the obstretician and we'll start planning about the birth, so i hope baby comes out at the end of this week or early next week... I hope i can last till then..but my main concern is my baby, i feel like he's super cramped up in there, i feel so sorry for him, i'm only small so he doesnt really have anymore room in my tummy to grow..I think he wants to be out very soon, i dont want him traumatized, all i want is a healthy and a safe delivery, anyway i'll let you all know on Thursday.

what's up lately

Okay, first I'm so proud to let everyone know that Chad finished university, yes he graduated :) I'm so proud of him, good timing and all considering our boy is going to be here next month, such a wonderful blessings.
As for me, i'm surviving:) Myself and the doctors are trying to control my GDM, i have been on insulin both injection and tablets, baby is still growing at the normal range except his tummy ( a little bit over) but they said that it was expected because i have gestational diabetes.
Here are some of his recent 4d/3d/2d scan taken recently, the purpose of this scan is to see how is he growing and progressing since i have Gestational diabetes, this scan was done on the 3rd of this month and at the time he's 4lbs 13oz which they said it's still within the normal range:) well he certainly doesnt look very pleased at all, he doesnt like to be disturbed that's for sure:) he's face seem to be very chubby and round like mine, and i think we look alike :) anyway its not long now until we see him in person and i guess you'll be the judged of that right?

And today i had an antenatal, everything is well with bub, he's active as ever, and is in a good position - still head down (i guess preparing himself too:) and his heart beat is healthy etc., and how's mum doing you may asked? well, i'm apparently 3 cm bigger than average well there's no surprise there i feel like my tummy can't grow/stretch any bigger but i'm still growing, i have an Odeama on my feet but blood pressure is good:) I will be back at the hospital again on Thursday to see the Endocrinologist, Obstretitian and the physio so i will be at the hospital almost the whole day. I would really hope for a little break this Christmas:) it would be nice not to visit the hospital for once:) but hey i gotta to do and i need to do right? anyway these are the latest at the moment.. until my next post..

Okay, on the 21st I had 2 baby showers, first my old colleagues and friends has organized a morning tea/baby shower for me, it was really lovely to catch up with them, i miss them a lot, i was the baby in the group and feel they are all mums to me :) they are very kind and got cool baby presents..here are a few photos we took.

And in the afternoon.. another baby shower organized by my 2 sister inlaws Hope and Paige..it was so much fun.. we had it at friends place..through the years i've been to so many baby showers and finally my long awaited one, I was over the moon that day, i felt love and special <:) my baby is one lucky boy, he got so many presents:) here are a few pictures..

Firstly an update about the pregnancy - Irene is doing well despite of gestational diabetes, carpal tunnel syndrome etc<:), Baby is very active, big kicks everywhere and sticking his body parts and leave it in one spot for awhile and can get very uncomfortable for mummy sometimes:), because of the diabetes Irene's visit to the hospital is more frequent at least once a week and see a couple of specialists, this coming Wednesday we are having a scan to see how the baby is growing and maybe a couple more scans after that, and if he's growing morethan he's supposed to, then a scheduled induction or CS might be necessary (i hope i wont do the latter), otherwise everything is well.

Ok, so i went to do the proper glucose test on the 10th of this month and boy it was so boring, it took more than 2 hours to complete and got some more hematomas too boohooo!! anyway the next day, a midwife rang about the result and surprise surprise I have indeed developed a GESTATIONAL DIABETES MELLITUS or in other words, Diabetes for pregnant women, this is due to changes to the normal hormone levels. Q: Will the diabetes go away at the end of pregnancy? A:It is very likely that the diabetes is only associated with the pregnancy, and, in almost every instance, will go away as soon as the baby is born. I really hope so. Anyway i met up with the Diabetes educator today and dietitian they gave me a few booklets and instructions on my daily diet as GDM can sometimes be well managed just by eating the right food etc do exercise, in the mean time I to prick my finger 4 times a day to monitor my sugar level, and if that's going well then i dont need to take a medication for it. I was also told that they will be monitoring the baby from now on (growth wise) which means frequent visit to the hospital. The immediate risk is associated with GDM is the possibility of the baby being larger than average, this may make the birth more difficult or lead to a higher rate of induction or Caesarean section which i was hoping all the while to have a natural and normal birth, so I guess i'll just have to do the best I can to manage this diabetes, I just and pray that my baby is okay and is not to affected by it. So there you go..I thought i had it all good but i thought wrong <:) Until then, i'll keep you posted on my progress..

So..the other day, i had my week 28 routine, had the glucose Challenge test and the normal antenatal routine, anyway..so they told me if i don't hear from them (doctors, pathologist whoever) that my glucose or sugar level is fine, one day passed, nothing in the mail, 2 days nothing, well 3rd day got something in the mail and the result i got was above the normal sugar level, so they're asking me to come back to the hospital and do the proper glucose test this which will take a couple of blood test and 12 hour fasting and have to go through a certain diet prior to the testing, this test apparently help determines wether i have a gestational diabetes >:) Which i'm really hoping and pray that i don't. Anyway i will probably be going and do the test next week, I will let you know the results, so until then.

Hiya everyone here's a couple 4d scan pictures of our little one <:) we we're so excited to see him, although the heatwave from the ultrasound sometimes makes them look a little freakish lol <:) bubby is good, very active, in fact he kept on moving around that day so it was really hard to get some decent shot of his face, and these two pictures are the best ones that they took. We can't wait to hold him in our arms, but it seems like January is so far away (that's how i feel anyway). We also have a dvd of the scan but I dont know how to upload that here. Anyway sorry for not blogging for awhile..i will try to update you all for as much as I can.

So, most of you would have seen these pictures in FB already but I still would like put it here anyway, seriously i'm ballooning ha ha! but i love everything that's going on with my body at the moment, even the not so good one<:) yeah well i've waited so long to see my tummy grow and i am so grateful for this experience, at one stage i thought that i will never ever experience it, but here i am with a round tummy, what a blessing indeed <:) I love my baby bump and i love the baby itself, we can't wait to meet him. In two weeks time or so, we're going to have a 4D scan and we're so looking forward to seeing him again, January seem so far yet so close <:)

6 months mark update

Last Monday i went for my monthly antenatal check, they measured my tummy (Fundus i think, listen to bubs heartbeat and every other normal routine they do every visit) Chad wasnt able to come with me this time as he's working, baby is good and everything else is good, In the next 4 weeks i will have a bloodtest for my glucose and iron levels. Chad and I decided that we will do a non diagnostic 4D ultrasound around the same time as well, so we're looking forward for that. How's mum doing you may ask? I am doing great, just growing bigger and rounder fast.. a few people seem to think that i'm having twins, but we know that we only have one baby boy in there <:) I think people sometime forget that i'm just a little person so i guess the weight gain has got nowhere else to go but my tummy and everywhere else they can go in my body<:) but if i'm 3 to 4 inches taller, than maybe i would look a bit different (not so round) ha!

Chad's birthday bash

Chad turned 30 on the 3rd of October, but we celebrated his birthday on the 2nd of October as Chad started playing cricket again, friends and families has joined us and everyone had a blast especially Chad, they played AVP Laser tag at DreamWorld (it's in a theme park) we rented the place for 2 hours <:) here are a few pictures that night..

After a few hoops that Chad had to go through, he finally got a job. We are so thankful, I am so proud of him, he's almost finished school as well which is a perfect timing because our baby is due in January. We are very excited for our little baby boy, we know he's gonna be so much fun to have in our home. We are so grateful for all the blessings that we receive each day.

It's a Chad Mini Me

We found out on Friday afternoon that we are going to have a boy, I have an instinct that it's a boy in there but Chad thought that it's going to be a girl, I am happy regardless, as long as it's a healthy baby in there:) Chad however has gotten to the idea that he's getting a girl first, so he was kinda sad>:) well not so much sad but was in shocked when the Radiologist told us and showed us that it's definitely a BOY, He wanted a have a Daddy's little girl so bad lol<;), but he's happy now, most of our friend told him that he should be jumping up and down that it's a boy lol! as most dad normally want's a boy first...anyway everything is great and the baby is doing good:) I have however a slight heart murmur so i am going to have a Cardiograph to check my heart (a non invasive ultrasound) I hope that everything will be fine..and i know i'm going to be fine:) I'm just getting bigger i guess so i'm out of breath:) We are both very excited to see the bub through the monitor, he was so active, i think he didnt like the ultrasound so much as he kept on covering his face<:) I love my baby already and i love talking to him..Now Chad will just have to get used to calling him a He and Not a she when he speaks to him:)

Tomorrow is when we find out the baby's gender, and we hope that the baby cooperates:) i have been talking to the baby to be nice when we do the ultrasound, so i hope that He or She hears me and listens to mummy<:) It hasn't been easy for me but i still do enjoy every moment of it whenever i can, i seem to experience all the symptoms there is in pregnancy but i am really grateful that i am carrying this precious gift:) here's the latest pic of my tummy. I've been meaning to post some preggy pictures here but i havent got around to it, i havent even uploaded any of our photos from our holiday in the U.S., i'm not that busy because i'm not really working much anymore, i am just lazy:) anyway eventually there'll be some pictures posted here:) Next week we're going to have a morphology scan so we'll let you know about the baby's sex..maybe i'll have the pictures ready then..until then...

Yesterday was my 4 months mark of the pregnancy, I feel so heavy already i've gained 3 kg already and i still have 5 months to go.. i'm petrified of how many kilos am i going to put on altogether..on the other side i shouldn't be so paranoid because it's apparently normal to put on weight while youre pregnant boohooo!!, I shouldnt be whingeing really, i should be happy that i'm pregnant:) i guess it's all about how look at things, I just hope that this pregnancy will continue to be healthy and well..I guess i will have to do something about the weight issue later after the bubby's born:) I dont know why am i writing this on here, but i feel like it:) so yeah..keep reading and stay tune for my irene's whingeing ha ha!! kidding..till my next blog:)

A reason why you should not be driving if you're tired!

The day we got back from the states, my brother and sister in law put on a BBQ for us, they live about 20 minutes away from where we live, on the way to their place, traffic was so heavy that at one stage we sat on one spot for about 20 minutes (not moving and i'm not kdding) we have to turn our engine off -- yeah really bad (there was an accident and because of the road works it made it even worse), so when we got to their place we were starving..way pass my dinner time, and being pregnant didnt help too, hunger made me feel even sicker:(. We had fun that night although we're very tired and jet lag, so after catching up we decided to go home, Chad was driving fine, until we're about 3-4 minutes away to our house when he said he's really tired, well his tiredness also affected his judgement because when he saw the lights turned amber, he sped through it before it turns red, but then he realized that he wasnt gonna make it, so he slammed his brake.... and then decided to go through the red light anyway (crazy driver!!-:) and then it was too late when he noticed the cop car close by, suddenly he's awake!, and then he said "Oh crap i'm gonna get a fine", well he kept driving but he's convinced he's going to be pulled over, the cop car followed us for about 1 kilometre then he flashed his lighst and sure enough he pulled us over "way to go Chad"!!
Cop: I pulled you over for a random breath test mate!
Chad: oh okay no worries mate:), - I thought the cop's first question should have been: Cop: "I pulled you over because you went through the red lights" (but he didnt)..So he asked Chad to do the test and the reading came up - then of course the reading came back zero because there's no trace of alcohol..good thing we dont drink..:) so the cop probably thought that the alcohol meter was faulty so he asked Chad to give it another try so he did, and the result was the same, this time he's convinced that Chad wasnt drunk ha ha!! If i was the cop, i would have probably thought that he was drunk too ha ha!, seeing how he went through the red light, I'm just glad that he wasnt pulled over for that matter:) Phewww!! So yeah the lesson here is that: DONT DRIVE IF YOU'RE TIRED:)

we are having a baby, we are so excited!

After long 6 years of trying, it finally happened for us, we are so excited, we couldnt believe it when we did a home pregnancy test and came back positive, we said this is impossible, we've never gotten pregnant naturally before, only through IVF and both miscarried. So we're like, this is not possible, we're not even trying anymore, we actually stop trying, we decided to forget all about trying for awhile and started going on holidays and stuff and then one morning i woke up and the first thing that came up to my mind is to do a pregnancy test (totally out of the blue!!) and i was about to chuck it out to bin because i am so used to seeing negative result, anyway as i'm about to do so, and then i saw from the corner of my eye; 2 lines, so i thought i must still be really sleepy as it was really early in the morning, so i looked at it again and it was indeed 2 lines, i immediately slap my face and splash it with a cold water (it's winter by the way:) so it was cold.. brrr...just to make sure i'm not dreaming or something, and then when the 2 lines didnt disappear, i bolted to our bedroom and jumped on Chad on the bed and i said: wake up, i think i am pregnant" and he said, what?? what are you talking about, how's that possible?? and then i dragged him to the bathroom and showed him the test and he later said, good!! at least we dont need to spend $10k for an IVF again and gave me a big hug and i started bawling my eyes out:) (tears of joy indeed) it's a miracle!! I know Heavenly knows the desires of our hearts, He knows each of us very well and He will give us what we want in His own time! and i know that this is a perfect time for us because, Chad's finishing school at the end this year and I'm due last week of January so it works out perfect:) So yeah this is our little story about our little miracle, we hope you enjoyed reading it! Excited and Counting down

It's 22 days exactly till we fly to America, we're so excited! especially me, this will be my first time to visit the US, well it's not the whole US but parts of it:) we can't wait, we're also very excited to catch up with some mission friends after 7 years, including our mission president and his wife if they have time to meet us of course..We hope to have a pleasant trip with no troubles....signing out for now!

i know, i know, it's been awhile..it's been almost a month i think since my last post so forgive me people for being slack :) Okay let me think what we did since then.. hmmm.. oh i know, my brother proposed to his Arizonian girlfriend and majority of the family decided to go to the wedding which will be held in AZ in July (i heard it's gonna be so hot!!!) hmm that would be interesting for me since i'm not used to dry heat:( i hope i wont die lol!, so Chad and I decided that since we're going to the wedding we might as well take 3 weeks holiday to see a little bit of US and catch up with our friends (mission friends etc..) we're so excited! what's even exciting is that we got our tickets cheap.. it's basically 1 ticket for 2 people awesome right?? hehehe.. so i guess that's the most exciting bit that we're looking forward to:) And oh the last couple weeks we have been sitting kids for 2 days and 2 nights.. two weeks ago we looked after Chad's sisters kids, consists of an 8 yr old, 6 yr old, 3 yr old and a 5 month old:) the 3 older girls stayed over for the night, it's interesting, fun and tiring!! absolutely:)but what's good about it is that we can return them to their parents after 2 days hehehe:) and last week end, we had 2 little girls stayed over all day Saturday/ Sat night and took them to church with us, they're 4 yr old and 3 yr old, they're not siblings, they are our friends kids:) they love staying at aunty Irene's place lol! but oh my they can be handfuls!:) but really it's a great learning experience for me and Chad:) we love it.. i think i've taken some photos of my sister inlaws kids..so i'll try to upload them here:)

March 20, the same day we got back from Japan, I had to go pledge at Brisbane city hall to become an Aussie citizen along with 500 others, the ceremony was nice, lot's of family members and friends shared it with us! I really enjoyed it. Now that's all out of the way, I will now need to re-acquire my Filipino citizenship to become a dual citizen. Australia is a beautiful country/continent and i am so proud to be a part of it, not just saying this because i am now a citizen.. It really is a privilege to be a citizen of a free and a very multicultural country!!

Japan trip - March 2009

In November last year Chad and I bought plane tickets to Japan, as our 6 year anniversary treat, anyway it was cheap tickets:) and that's one reason why we bought those tickets, Japan's beautiful and expensive:) but we had heaps of fun! luckily we brought our own tourist guide:) (Heath - Chad's brother) who served his mission there, otherwise it would have been a little tough for me and Chad to figure things out. We went to Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka, we caught up with our Japanese friends, sight see around Tokyo and went to Disneyland Tokyo, saw a few ancient temples in Kyoto and went to our friends sealing in the Tokyo temple.. and ate heaps of yummy Japanese food:)

Well, we had our 6yrs anniversary in February, Chad and I went on a little getaway to the Sunshine Coast, where he took me Jet skiing for the very first time and i loved it a lot, in fact i nearly knock Chad off at the back seat, that's how much i love jet skiing hehehe, i went so fast (faster than chad yeah baby!!) that i forgot about him clinging behind me:) anyway here are some of the photos we took.

The Match That Almost Stopped Irene's Heart

well if you don't already know by now Irene is obsessed with Roger Federer or Fedex as she likes to call him by his nickname. anyways as you might know, he is currently playing in the Australian open in Melbourne and was playing his fourth round match today against Tomas Berdych from Czech just after church. because of Irene's obsession we decided to watch this match expecting Federer to blast past his opponent easily and get through to the next round. well that didn't happen at all, he started the game poorly and made alot or errors and lost the first 2 sets and looked like he would lose and get kicked out of the tournament. usually on sundays irene is reverent and quiet as a mouse, mellow and relaxed but today however she was so tense and uptight from watching her fave player get beat that she was screaming out loud through nearly every point and sreaming "C'MON!!". I threatened her at one point that if she didnt quiet down i would have to give her a time out and put her in the naughty corner :) to which she gave me a (ARE YOU KIDDING ME BUDDY LOOK). anyways after i explained to her that sunday wasnt over yet:) she settled down a little, but i think it was mainly due to the fact that roger Federer won the 3rd set and looked like he could come back. well as a true champion does, the Fedex came back to win the match in 5 sets which made irene one happy tennis loving filipino:) so in conclusion to my story while i am grateful that i have a wife that shares a love of sports as i do, i sometimes pretend that im not with her when we go to live events as she get right into it like those crazy people that paint themselves and shout out when nobody else does :) (embarrassing at times but also funny to watch)

The Picture on the left was Matthew Hayden, he just retired, he's one of my favourite batsman, he's one of the best of all time! The picture on the right is taken while the match is in progress.

Last night was awesome! we went to see the match (cricket) Australia VS South Africa, We won by 6 wickets and an over to spare (for those of you that doesn't know cricket, you might not be able to understand the Lingo) but basically, there's 10 wickets in a team ( a wicket represents a player) so when a batsman is out then that's a wicket lost for the team and in cricket there's 6 balls in an over, 1 bowler bowls 6 balls and then change the bowler and he will bowl 6 balls for his turn they keep doing this until they get someone out and a batsman can be out in different ways, I guess its much easier to understand when youre actually watching the game, anyway i don't really want to bore you with cricket stuff..so here are some pictures we took from the match!

Update for my passport app

If you read my last blog, this is the continuation, anyhow, since i didn't hear from the Philippines embassy yesterday after I waited all day long, I decided to give them a call early in the morning today to see if they've receive my email, surprise surprise, they have but didn't even bother to reply or call me back as requested (pretty slack huh?). Anyway they put me through to the Attorney General to have a chat, to make the story short, he apologized for the delay and also promised me that He will coordinate with the Brisbane office to put my appearance schedule sometimes this month so that they can send it back to the Philippines for a passport production and if my passport still doesn't arrive in time for my trip to Japan, He promised that they'll extend my last passport so that i can still go on my trip. ( I didn't know that they can do that, but apparent they will, so fingers crossed). After that conversation i felt a bit relaxed but i wont be at ease until i hear from them again within this week for another schedule for me to make the appearance, so i will keep you posted.

The Call that ruined my day

My Philippines Passport has expired May 2008, I didnt renew it straight away because i thought i should just wait until i get my Australian citizenship then apply for a dual citizenship and that's when i should be renewing my Philippine passport so i can save some money, anyway I decided i should just go renew it anyway, last week was when i lodged my australian citizenship application and got approved December 1 last year, but until i pledge my oath (do the ceremony) i wont be australian citizen therefore cant apply for an Australian passport, the ceremony takes place within 6 months so dont have any clue when that will be. Anyway i sent my passport renewal application to the Consulate General of the Philippines here in Australia on the 27th of November 2008 (well before the holiday season), I sent via Expressed post and registered the mail too, I have been waiting since then for them to call me back for an appearance so i can sign and thumb mark, and finally yesterday i got call from embassy here in Brisbane, the lady on the phone told me that the first date that i can go for an appearance is on the 24th of Feb 2009, but see that is an acceptable because that means i wont get my passport before i go to Japan on the 12th of March because after my appearance they have to send my application to the Philippines for a passport production, which means I'm screwed..i was even angrier because the lady on the phone told me that there's no one to act on behalf of the consulate general whose absent, which i know for a fact that its a total lie, because if the in charge goes away, there's always, always! someone to act on his behalf, anyway to make the long story short, I called the office in Canberra (the general consulate's office) and spoke to another Lady and told her my concern, she then told me i have to write to an of their officer to see what can he do so that i can get my passport dont before my trip to Japan, so i wrote him an email straight away and now just waiting for his reply. I hope that he can expedite the process, after all i've done my part and they didnt do theirs. I will let you know the outcome.

Brisbane International - Australian Open Series

Since we're jobless still and we have so much free time on hour hands, we decided to go to a tennis match, i've never been to a live tennis match before, so my super nice husband bought a ticket for us, I love it! i saw some top seeded player and good tennis matches, I'm a sports fanatic, i love watching tennis, unfortunately MY Roger Federer didnt come to Brisbane:( he's playing in the Kooyong Classic leading up to the Australian Grand Slam in Melbourne instead. I was a little disappointed because Djokovich lost in the first round as well as Marcos Bagdhadis so didnt get to see them live, but Ana Ivanovich made it to QF which is good and then there was Fernancdo Verdasco, Soderling, Gasquet, Tsonga, Azarenka, Marion Bartoli, Stepanek, Mathieu, Amelie Muareso etc, so overall we still saw some good players and had fun!! These photos were Taken in the Pat Rafter Arena, centre court.
